2012 Guest of Honour | Ehrengast 2012

The Guest of Honour programme at the Frankfurt Book Fair has a long and prestigious history.

This year New Zealand will have more publishing, translation, storytelling and education opportunities at the 2012 fair as we  promote ourselves through the collective New Zealand Publishing stand, across digital storytelling hot spots and within our dedicated 2,300 square metre New Zealand pavillion. In the lead-up to Frankfurt we will take centre stage through a series of high-profile literary and cultural events.

Being Guest of Honour has enormous significance. Across the world we’re known for our beautiful landscape, our agricultural exports and our film production and now Germans will experience our literature, heritage, arts and culture in their own back yard.

New Zealand’s Guest of Honour role began on Sunday 16 October 2011, when Iceland handed over the title. As Guest of Honour New Zealand will bring our own kind of hosting and sharing, manaakitanga, to the New Zealand pavillion. Experience our unique cultural offering of literature, art, dance, music, food and wine as our guests in 2012.
