Dylan Horrocks from New Zealand signs his graphic novel "Hicksville" at the bookstore Ocelot in Berlin.

Dylan Horrocks is an award-winning graphic novelist, writer and illustrator and comic artist. He is best known for the graphic novel Hicksville, a story that combines, among other things, the history of comics with ideas around geographical and cultural colonisation in New Zealand.

Black Eye published Hicksville as a graphic novel in 1998. It has since been reprinted by Drawn & Quarterly (2001) and Victoria University Press (2010). It has also been translated into French, Italian and Spanish. In 2002 Hicksville won Horrocks an Eisner Award (Talent Deserving of Wider Recognition). Horrocks has written scripts for Batgirl (DC Comics) and Hunter: the Age of Magic (Vertigo) and contributed cartoons and illustrations to numerous New Zealand magazines and newspapers.
