Peter Gordon

Kiwi celebrity chef Peter Gordon hails from Whanganui on the North Island’s west coast, has lived in London for 23 years but makes regular trips back to New Zealand where he oversees his two Auckland restaurants and several food ranges. He also has an interest in the award-winning Stolen Rum brand and the Waitaki Braids vineyard, which he co-owns.

Acclaimed as a restaurateur, television personality and author, Peter Gordon has produced seven cookbooks, including A Culinary JourneyCook At Home with Peter Gordon and Salads - The New Main Course. His new book, Peter Gordon: Everyday, is to be published in October (NZ: HarperCollins / UK: Jacqui Small).

Peter gives cooking demonstrations, and teaches at cooking schools and food festivals around the world. He is widely recognised as an ardent promoter of the food industry in both New Zealand and the UK where he also uses his culinary skills to raise money for numerous charities, as well as culinary competitions that promote professional excellence amongst younger chefs and waiters. His annual charity event for leukaemia in the UK, Who's Cooking Dinner?, has raised more than £3.5 million over 13 years. Peter was made an O.N.Z.M. (Officer of the New Zealand Order of Merit - the NZ equivalent of an OBE) in the 2009 New Years Honours List for services to the food industry.
